Gaylene Turner, M.C.; R.C.C.
I have had the honour of assisting clients professionally for twenty years in a variety of capacities, and am passionate about helping people recognize their own strength and ability to grow. People have affirmed that I have a unique ability to connect with individuals from all walks of life, ages and cultures, and to help them feel comfortable, safe and at ease. As an empathetic listener, I have a sensitivity to tune into the needs of others. Being non-judgmental, open, and committed to authenticity are qualities that I bring to the counselling process. I practice with genuine gentleness, compassion, humour, acceptance, curiosity, creativity, and sense of adventure so that people feel open to explore their needs in a safe manner.
Areas of practice include:
- current or historical (sexual or other) abuse
- grief and loss
- accepting and adapting to change
- family issues (past and/or present)
- relationship issues
- cultural adaptation
If you have an issue that is not on the list, please ask me. These issues represent the main focus of work, but this list is not exhaustive.
If you are interested in learning more about my theoretical beliefs and methods of practice, please do not hesitate to ask me.
